Upload your records so your employer receives the work saved on your device. This article covers Single User mode in the new Time Portal Mobile app.
Before you begin
- Connect your device to the internet.
- Check that you are signed in to the account that recorded the work.
- Review and correct your work before approving or uploading it. Records cannot be edited on the device after approval or after upload starts.
- Complete any required approvals. See Reviewing and approving your workday.
Saving work, approving it, and uploading it are separate steps. A record saved on your device has not necessarily reached your employer.
1. Open Sync
On Home, select Records to upload when that status appears. You can also open the menu in the upper-left corner and select Sync.
Example with sample data. The count represents upload-ready items, not a count of workdays.
Opening Sync starts the sync attempt. It refreshes company information, such as jobs and locations, and sends eligible work. Keep the app open while it runs.
2. Review the result
Wait for the attempt to finish, then read the status and Sync details.
Sync complete means the attempt completed successfully. Sync details shows what was uploaded or whether there was nothing ready to upload. Select OK to return to the app.
Counts in Sync details may refer to individual records, such as a clock-in or clock-out, rather than a complete workday.
3. Check your records
Open Time records, find the workday, and expand it. Check the record's upload status. A completed record marked Uploaded has been acknowledged by the server.
Approved confirms your review; Uploaded confirms the record was sent. A successful sync does not approve work that is still waiting for your review.
Home's Records to upload count covers work currently ready to send. Also check Items to approve and Time records for work that still needs action. In Single User mode, finish the work and approve it before uploading. Open work is not ready for approval or upload.
If sync is incomplete
An incomplete result can mean that some records uploaded and others did not, or that another part of sync could not finish. Read Sync details to identify what remains.
Example of an incomplete upload using a sample remaining count.
- Check your internet connection and read the error message.
- Follow any action requested by the message.
- Select Try again when you are ready to retry.
- Review the new result and check Time records for any records still waiting.
Unsent records remain on this device for another attempt. Do not re-enter the work simply because an upload was incomplete. Do not uninstall the app or clear its data while work is still waiting to upload.
If you select OK after an incomplete sync, you can continue using information already downloaded during setup. OK leaves the screen; it does not resolve the upload problem. Open Sync again when you are ready to retry.
Uploads in Single User mode
Automatic upload is off and its setting is hidden in Single User mode. Use Sync to send eligible records and refresh company lists. When Home shows no records ready to upload, its status is read-only; you can still open Sync from the menu.
No time records to upload refers to time records only. Sync may still upload an employee photo or download company information.
Common questions
- I have no connection: keep recording work using your downloaded information after initial setup. Reconnect and sync later.
- There is nothing to upload, but I recorded work: check whether the work needs approval, has already uploaded, or is still open.
- I am using training mode: practice records stay on the device and are not uploaded as real work.
- The error keeps returning: open the menu and select Support. Include the workday and exact message. Use Upload diagnostics if support asks for it.
