Start new work when you switch jobs or locations, move to a different field, or begin work with a different crop variety. Recording when you switch keeps your time assigned to the work you actually do. This article covers Single User mode in the new Time Portal Mobile app.
Before you begin
Check Home to confirm that you are clocked in. When you start new work, the app keeps the time you have already recorded and begins a separate record for the work you are starting.
To correct recorded work instead, open the record in Time records and edit its selectable rows in Work details when available. Select Save to apply corrections to that existing record.
Example with sample data. Use Clock in to start the next work segment when your current work does not require a final piece count.
Start new work while doing hourly work
- On Home, select Clock in while you are clocked in.
- Review the time shown. It marks when the previous work ends and the new work starts. If your company permits time changes, correct it before saving.
- Under Work details, choose the Job, Location, Crop variety, or other selections for the work you are starting. Available fields depend on your company settings.
- Review the other selections and complete any required fields. If the new job includes piece work, complete Piece rate and Unit of measure.
- Select Clock in and wait for the success confirmation.
- Select OK to return to Home. You remain clocked in for the new work.
Example: start Field maintenance in South field at 10 AM.
The app ends the previous work at the new clock-in time and starts a separate record with your new selections. For example, if you start work at 8 AM and switch jobs at 10 AM, Time records shows the completed 8–10 AM work followed by the new active work. You remain clocked in.
If your current job includes piece work
For piece and hourly-plus-piece jobs, finish the current work through Clock out before starting new work, including when you switch locations or crop varieties. This ensures that you enter the final piece count for the work you are ending.
- On Home, select Clock out.
- Select Piece count, enter the final total for the current work, and select Save. Enter zero if you produced no pieces.
- Select Clock out to save the completed work and its count.
- At the success confirmation, select No, not yet if you are continuing to work.
- On Home, select Clock in, choose the job, location, and other selections for your new work, and save your new clock-in.
See Clocking out for screenshots of final piece-count entry.
Check the result
Open Time records and expand the day. The previous work should appear as a completed record and the new work as an active record. Select a record to check its full details. Review and approve your completed work when you finish the day, then upload your records.
If you need help
- A required field is missing: complete the indicated selection. Scroll to see fields below the visible part of the form.
- The app asks you to clock out first: finish the current piece-work segment and enter its final count before starting another segment.
- A job or location is unavailable: connect to the internet, open the menu, and select Sync. Contact your supervisor if it is still missing.
- You need to correct earlier work: open that record in Time records and review its Work details. Contact your supervisor if the record cannot be edited.
After initial setup, these steps also work offline. Required location settings still apply. Reconnect later to upload your work. If you receive a save error, review your clock status and Time records before trying again.
