Time Portal Mobile shows both the state of your work and whether it has been uploaded. Read both labels to understand what has happened and what you need to do next. This article covers Single User mode in the new app.
Where to check
- Open Time records.
- Find the pay period and expand the workday.
- Read the labels below each record's job and time range.
Sample records showing three combinations of work and upload status.
Completed-work labels
| Label | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Completed | The work has a clock-in and clock-out, but the record is not fully approved. | Check its details and review the workday for approval. |
| Approved | Your approval has been recorded for this work, including associated production when present. | Check the separate upload label to see whether it has been sent. |
| Waiting for approval | Completed work needs your approval before it can be uploaded. | Review and approve the workday, then sync. |
| Waiting to upload | The complete record has not yet been acknowledged as uploaded. | Complete any needed approval, then sync. If an attempt was incomplete, read Sync details and retry as instructed. |
| Uploaded | The server has acknowledged all parts of the displayed record, including associated production when present. | No further upload is needed for that record. Check other records separately. |
Approved + Waiting to upload means your review is saved, but the complete record has not yet reached the server. Approved + Uploaded confirms both steps.
Waiting to upload does not mean every part failed or that work was lost. For example, a partial upload may have sent some records while others remain on the device.
Open-work labels
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Working / Clocked in | The displayed record has a clock-in and no matching clock-out. It is still open. |
| Clock-in uploaded | If displayed, this describes only the clock-in reaching the server; it does not confirm a completed workday. In the normal Single User workflow, work is completed and approved before upload. |
Clock out when you finish working, then review and approve the completed work before uploading it. Displayed hour totals include completed work and elapsed time from open work. Open work still must be completed before approval.
Practice records
Practice identifies work recorded in training mode. These records stay on the device and are not uploaded as real work, even if you complete or approve them. If you intended to record real work, contact your supervisor for guidance.
What Home's counts mean
- Items to approve: completed work is waiting for review. Select it to open Approval summary.
- Records to upload: eligible items are ready to send. Select it to open Sync.
- No records to upload / No approved records to upload: no records are currently ready to send. This status is not tappable. The second message indicates there is work not yet ready; check Items to approve and Time records.
These counts represent items rather than workdays. Sync details can count individual clock-in, clock-out, and production records, so its count may differ from the number of rows or days you reviewed.
After an upload attempt
Sync complete confirms that the sync attempt finished successfully. Sync incomplete means part of the attempt could not finish. Read Sync details to see what uploaded and what needs attention, then check the affected records.
A sync can finish successfully with nothing ready to upload. It does not automatically approve unreviewed work. Likewise, Approval complete confirms your approval was saved on this device; it does not confirm upload.
When a record is locked
Work details can no longer be edited after approval or after upload starts. A record may therefore be read-only even while its upload is incomplete. Contact your supervisor if a locked record needs correction.
