Time Portal Mobile for IOS and Android has been enhanced to support crew leaders in addition to single users (drivers, inspectors.) As described in the article Mobile App Versions, the Windows version will still be required for use with scales and barcode scanners, however, the Android and IOS version can be used for clocking in workers, collecting piece counts and more. Moreover, these versions will run on any modern Android or IOS phone or tablet.
- Users of the Windows Mobile version will continue to log in with a username and password that is defined in the Users screen.
- Users of the IOS and Android applications will log in using their phone number and an access code that are on the Employee Detail screen as illustrated below.
Notice that the Mobile App Mode is now on the Employee Detail screen instead of the User screen.
A new Mobile App tab now appears at the bottom of the Employee Detail Screen as illustrated below. The Send Invitation button on this tab will send a text message to the employee with their login credentials as well as instructions for downloading the app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. Please review the article Invite Employees to the mobile app to learn about enabling and inviting mobile app users.
The Employees List now includes columns to view, find and sort by Mobile App Mode and Phone Number. This makes it easy for you to locate employees who have been authorized to use Time Portal Mobile.
The User Detail Screen no longer includes the Mobile App Mode option which has been moved to the Employee Detail Screen. As illustrated below, a person using Time Portal for Windows Mobile must still be defined as a User but can be assigned none of the rights that would give him access to the back-office web application.
