Time Portal uses the concept of Crews to manage time sheets, attendance and production information for groups of employees. Therefore, each employee must be assigned to a Crew in order to be included on a Time Sheet for the associated Crew.
In many agricultural processes, crew members may be split into smaller groups or "teams". For example, a team of 5-workers may work in one section while another team of 6-workers may work in another. Piece counts for one section may be divided among the first 5-workers while piece counts for the other section may be divided among the other 6-workers.
As illustrated below, Teams can be created on the Teams setup screen. You might create team "CART 7" and assign the employees working on "asparagus cart number 7" or perhaps create and assign "Team 3" to the employees who operate as a team picking watermelons. Time Portal provides tools for identifying and performing updates to groups of employees based on their "Team".
If you choose to group employees by "team name", you can include the Team Name column in the Employee List as shown below. Once you've done so, you can filter and sort the list to find employees for a particular team name.
Tip: Use the Bulk Edit feature on the "More" menu to assign a team to multiple employees at once or navigate to the Team detail screen to add employees to a team.

Using the Team Name to set piece rates
Consider the situation where you need to credit each employee on a "team" with a certain number of pieces on a particular Time Sheet. Having assigned a "team" to each employee, you can sort the employees in the Edit Pieces screen by "team name" to group them together for easy data entry as illustrated below.
Tip: Be sure to include "Team Name" as one of the displayed columns as illustrated above.
The grid's grouping feature can be used to facilitate data entry as it relates to teams. After enabling grouping on the grid, drag the "Team Name" column into the grey grouping box above the grid to group by "Team Name".
Splitting Piece Production Amongst a Team
Piece production can be added to each member of a team if this value has already been calculated or a total for the team can be split evenly amongst the team's members. Selecting and editing the team's time records opens the "Edit Time Sheet Records" window and a piece count can be added to each member of the team or it can be split evenly amongst the members by entering a piece count value and clicking the "Split Evenly" option.
Comparing Team Performance within a Time Sheet
By including "Team Name" as a displayed column on the Time Sheet Records and Employees lists, you can filter and sort each list to group information. Once you've done so, you can export to Excel for further analysis if desired.

Importing Teams into Time Portal
The Import Data spreadsheet has been updated to import Teams into Time Portal. The image below shows the added Teams worksheet within the Import Data spreadsheet. This can be used to add new Teams and update existing Teams in Time Portal.
