Time Portal Mobile, Version 2.17, introduces the ability to change the Clock-in and Clock-out times for selected workers on the mobile device, but only if this has been enabled in the Time Portal Web Application.
Manually setting the Clock-in time.
When clocking workers into a job, Time Portal normally displays a running clock that indicates the time the workers will be clocked-in. The system time is used and it is normally the responsibility of the back office team to make adjustments to this time before processing payroll.
In scenarios where it is common for workers to be considered "on the clock" before they actually arrive at the work site, it may be preferable to allow crew leaders to override the system clock with a specified clock-in time. If the mobile policy "Edit Clock-in/Clock-out Times" has been enabled in the Time Portal Web Application, the Clock In Page will display the running clock as a blue hyperlink rather than as black text.
Tap on the "time" hyperlink to edit the Clock in Time as illustrated here.
Click Ok to accept the manually entered time and return to the Clock In Page. The selected time will be displayed and will not automatically increment as it did before. If you wish to reset the timer, just tap the "refresh" button as illustrated.
Changing the Clock in and Clock Out times
When approving Time Sheets in the field, Time Portal displays the clock-in and clock-out times above each work session. The times may not be changed by crew leaders but the Notes field can be used to request modifications by the back office team using the Time Portal Web Application.
If the mobile policy "Edit Clock-in/Clock-out Times" has been enabled in the Time Portal Web Application, and if the Time Sheet has not yet been approved, the clock-in and clock-out times may be changed by the crew leader, in the field. The Approve Time Sheet Page will display the clock-in and clock-out times as clickable blue hyperlinks rather than as black text.
Tap on the "Time In" or "Time Out" hyperlink to change the time.
Click Ok to accept the manually entered time and return to the Approve Time Sheet Page.
Hot to enable or disable the ability the change Clock-in and Clock-out times
The ability to change times on the mobile device is controlled by a setting in the Time Portal Web application which can be found on the My Company Page, on the Mobile Policies tab.
After changing this setting in the Web Application, the mobile device must have an Internet connection and must be synchronized in order to update its internal settings. Synchronization occurs at startup but can also be initiated by tapping the "Sync" button on the main page of the Time Portal Mobile Application.
